Welcome to Children’s Learning Corner!
Children’s Learning Corner is a private pre-school and Kindergarten including program for students 2.5 years to 6 years old.
As a small family-oriented facility, Children’s Learning Corner strives to meet the needs in our community for affordable, quality child care in a safe, educationally stimulating environment. Because of our small size we are albe to personlize our programs to fit each child’s needs in all areas of academic, physical, and social development. We are part of the Keystone Stars program which encourages excellence in education.
A theme-based curriculum designed by owner Barbara Kristiansen, uses state regulated learning standards and utilizes her more than 35 years of experience workin with early childhood students. Enrichment classes such as music and gymnastics compliment the curriculum.
Children feel right at home at Children’s Learning Corner and enjoy the days of learning and fun!

Children learn what they live! School should be a place where students are nurtured and build skills to meet their fullest potential academically, socially, and physically.
Children’s Learning Corner, small by design, provides students with a structured group plan as well as individual goals that are discussed with parents. Children’s Learning Corner is the entire lower level of our home, separate entirely from living space, but we are able to provide the security of a homey atmosphere.
Preschool/Pre-K are often a child’s first academic experience. The most important job of a teacher is not only to teach needed skills but to instill confidence and strength for a lifetime!
Education and Experience
While I started out in the nursing (and am an LPN), I have always been a teacher. As a teenager, I taught Sunday School and neighborhood children. My undergraduate degree in education and music and graduate degrees in early childhood and administration allowed me to teach in Philadelphia schools and then start my own Learning Center / Private school. It was a great experience to teach so many children, and even their children. Now is my time to work with a smaller group, use my experience and enjoy learning again with my students!
It has been a pleasure to prepare this smaller school with lots of learning centers, exploration areas, and supplies to make it a leader in early childhood education!
