Are you concerned about distance learning at home?
Children focus and feel more confident with a teacher in the classroom and with other children!

You can go to work AND provide the support required for effective distance learning: Give your child the advantage of a small, safer environment with a nurse on staff. We follow COVID-19 regulations including temperature checks, hand washing, daily deep cleaning and all staff wearing a mask.

Each child is provided with a desk and his/her own materials. Social distancing will be adhered to when ever possible. Ratio is maintained at a 1 – 6 ratio. It is extremely important to keep students and staff safe!

About our School

Children’s Learning Corner offers a thematic education program that readies students to succeed in nursery school or pre-K. A full or part time (1/2 day / 3 – 5 days) kindergarten program, taught by 2 certified, experienced teachers will ready children for 1st grade. First graders coming part time will work in conjunction with public school programs.

Barbara Kristiansen, PhD

Owner & Director

For thirty five years I have been an educator in the Central Bucks area, the last 20 as owner of Crossroads Country Day School.

Children learn what they live! School should be a place where students are nurtured and build skills to meet their fullest potential academically, socially, and physically.

Children’s Learning Corner, small by design, provides students with a structured group plan as well as individual goals that are discussed with parents. Children’s Learning Corner is the entire lower level of our home, separate entirely from living space, but we are able to provide the security of a homey atmosphere.

Preschool/Pre-K are often a child’s first academic experience. The most important job of a teacher is not only to teach needed skills but to instill confidence and strength for a lifetime!

Education and Experience

While I started out in the nursing (and am an LPN), I have always been a teacher. As a teenager, I taught Sunday School and neighborhood children. My undergraduate degree in education and music and graduate degrees in early childhood and administration allowed me to teach in Philadelphia schools and then start my own Learning Center / Private school. It was a great experience to teach so many children, and even their children. Now is my time to work with a smaller group, use my experience and enjoy learning again with my students!

It has been a pleasure to prepare this smaller school with lots of learning centers, exploration areas, and supplies to make it a leader in early childhood education!
